NPFL: Akwa United Forward Joins Zambia Giant

Zambia Premier League giants Zesco United have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Chijioke Alakwe ahead of the 2025/2026 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 27-year-old featured for Akwa United during the last Nigeria Premier Football League campaign. Despite the club’s relegation, Alakwe stood out with a solid individual performance.

Zesco United confirmed his arrival on Wednesday afternoon, announcing that he joins the Lusaka-based club on a free transfer.

Alakwe is set to link up with the first team for preseason preparations. He registered 5 goals in 21 appearances for the Promise Keepers last season.
