NPFL: Akwa United Player Went AWOL

Former champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League Akwa United have confirmed that one of its players Evans Ogbonda has went Absence Without Official Leave ( AWOL), BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

Ogbonda was part of the Olympic Eagles team that defeated Tanzania in the qualifier of the 2023 U23 African Cup of Nations.

The club stated on Friday that the defender is yet to return to the club base in Uyo after the qualifier.

"Since Evans Ogbonda was invited to the National U23 camp on his return is yet to report to the club camp in Uyo", the club said.

The Uyo-based team further said the last time they saw Evans was in Port-Harcourt.
