NPFL: Akwa United Unveil Deji Ayeni As New Head Coach.

Nigeria Professional Football League side, Akwa United have poached Deji Ayeni from Sunshine Stars & announced the Osun born tactician as their new Head Coach, signing a one year contract deal. BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The unveiling ceremony was at Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo by the chairman of the club, Elder Paul Bassey.

Ayeni replace title-winning coach Kennedy Boboye in the Promise Keeper’s dugout after his resignation in February.

Deputy Head Coach Ali Jolomi has been in charge of the team since the dismissal of Boboye and will now step aside for the new man.

Coach Ayeni's managerial growth is impressive, from Cynosure to Ekiti Utd (NNL). He got his first elite opportunity at Sunshine Stars last season, and took over one of the most difficult jobs last season & survived relegation. He left Sunshine Stars in 8th position on the log table, after the first round.

Ayeni took charge of his first training session this afternoon with the promise keepers ahead of the second stanza of NPFL 2021/2022 season.

Akwa United currently occupies 6th position on NPFL league table and hopes to climb the ladder with the introduction of Coach Ayeni as head Coach.
