The Commissioner for Sports in Bayelsa State Daniel Igali has insisted that Bayelsa United will survive relegation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite starting the season strongly, the Restoration Boys have been struggling in Nigeria's Premier Football League after suffering a home defeat to Remo Stars.

While speaking on a radio program in Lagos, Igali emphasized that the State government has made it, its priority to ensure that the club is safe.

"As you know the governor has paid special attention to the activities of our state-owned clubs and he always asks about the happenings and current position of our clubs.

“Of course this morning I was on a radio station that called me from Lagos and were expressing fears for Bayelsa United’s survival and I assured them that Bayelsa United does not have any choice but to stay up.

I want to emphasize how important it is for our athletes to stay motivated because this is a crucial time of the season", he said.
