NPFL: Bendel Insurance Edge Kano Pillars In Five-Goal Thriller

Bendel Insurance returned to winning ways on Saturday with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kano Pillars in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The win marks the first triumph for the Benin Arsenals under new technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye, following a difficult run of three defeats and a draw in their previous four fixtures.

Kano Pillars, meanwhile, remain without a victory since the appointment of coach Mohammed Babaganaru.

Kayode Oke opened scoring for Insurance in the 17th minute, but veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali levelled matters from the penalty spot in the 34th minute.

Four minutes later, Chiedozie Okorie put Pillars ahead for the first time in the encounter. Insurance mounted a spirited comeback, with Emmanuel Dung equalising 15 minutes from full time before Akpan Emmanuel sealed the win with a stoppage-time strike.

The victory lifts morale in the Benin camp as they look forward to building momentum in upcoming fixtures.
