NPFL: Bendel Insurance Issues Apology, Cautions Coach Boboye
Sampson Adedeji
Bendel Insurance FC has formally apologised to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) following incidents during their Matchday 32 clash with Plateau United on March 28 at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The club also issued a caution to head coach Kennedy Boboye over his involvement in the incident, warning against any repeat and stressing that such behaviour “will not be tolerated as Insurance FC remains a disciplined and law-abiding club.”
“After a thorough review of the incident and its consequences, the management expressed disgust and condemned the actions of head coach Kennedy Boboye, describing the incident as ugly and unfortunate,” the club said in a statement.
The statement further urged all players, coaches, and officials to avoid “overheated arguments” with match officials in future games, noting that such conduct would attract disciplinary measures.
Bendel Insurance is preparing to host Abia Warriors this Saturday behind closed doors, beginning a three-match sanction without fans. Supporters have been advised to stay away from the venue.
