It was a commanding home performance from Bendel Insurance F.C. on the second day of Matchday 28 fixtures in the Nigeria Premier Football League, as they thrashed Ikorodu City F.C. 4-0, while former champions Enyimba F.C. were held to a 1-1 draw by Kun Khalifat FC in Aba, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Bendel Insurance 4-0 Ikorodu City

Alex Oweilayefa delivered a sensational performance, netting a hat-trick in the 15th, 27th and 59th minutes to power Bendel Insurance to a resounding victory. 

Wisdom Udom added his name to the scoresheet in the 24th minute to complete a dominant first-half display and seal all three points for the Benin Arsenal.

Rangers 2-0 Nasarawa United

Godwin Obaje opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Chidiebere Nwobodo doubled the advantage eight minutes later, as Rangers secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Nasarawa United.

Bayelsa United 1-0 Rivers United

Bayelsa United edged the South-South derby courtesy of a 13th-minute own goal by Temple Emekayi, which proved decisive against Rivers United.

Remo Stars 2-0 Katsina United

Haruna Hadi struck twice in quick succession in the 60th and 62nd minutes to hand Remo Stars a convincing 2-0 victory over Katsina United.

Niger Tornadoes 0-0 Warri Wolves

Niger Tornadoes and Warri Wolves shared the spoils in a goalless encounter, with both sides unable to find a breakthrough despite several chances.

Shooting Stars 2-1 Kano Pillars

Sodiq Ibrahim gave Shooting Stars the lead in the 30th minute before Qamar Adegoke extended the advantage in the 63rd minute. 

Mustapha Jibrin pulled one back for Kano Pillars in the 79th minute, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Enyimba 1-1 Kun Khalifat

In Aba, James Ekebuike stunned the home fans when he fired Kun Khalifat ahead in the 38th minute. Enyimba pushed for a response and were rewarded late on through Ekene Awazie, who struck in the 85th minute to salvage a point for the People’s Elephant.
