By Sampson Adedeji

The first day of the match-day 11 of the Nigeria Premier Football League went down on Saturday and it was a good day for Doma United as they returned to the league summit with a narrow win over Niger Tornadoes, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nelson Abiam netted the only goal of the game in the 45th minute at the Pantami Stadium. Doma United have now garnered 21 points from 11 games to return to the zenith while Lobi Stars and Remo Stars claimed the second and third positions with 20 and 19 points respectively.

In Aba, Chijioke Mbaoma's 45th-minute penalty gave last season's champions a much-needed win over the Sunshine Stars.

Bendel Insurance defeated Lobi Stars by a lone goal scored by Nunior Osaghe in the 90th minute of the game at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Akwa United continued their inconsistent performance with another 1-1 home draw against Kwara United.

Uche Collins put the Promise Keepers ahead in the 43rd minute via a penalty but allowed the Afonja Warriors to level up in the 45th minute through Sadiq.

Akwa United got another penalty later in the game but it was missed by Collins as the game ended 1-1.

The final match day of the match day 11 is Sunday across 5 venues.
