NPFL: Early Goal Destabilize Our Plan - Imama
Sampson Adedeji
Head coach of Abia Warriors, Imama Amapakabo, has attributed their defeat in the matchday 31 to the early goal they conceded, BSNsports.com.ng gathered
The Umuahia based club suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nasarawa United which condemned the team to their second consecutive defeat.
While reacting to the game, former Super Eagles assistant coach said the early goals were responsible for their loss and shifted his attention to the next league match.
"I think it's a game that we had three early chances, and if we had taken any of those chances, it would changed the complexion of the game completely.
"We conceded a cheeky goal in terms of a set-piece even though it's something we had worked on several times.
"The early goal put us under some pressure and we tried to get into the game and in transition, it was a poor first-half.
"We managed to correct those mistakes in the second half after they had scored their second and pinned down on them and got a goal for ourselves.
"Though my opinion about the second goal might differ from that of the referee's, but despite our pressure, we lost the game.
"Every loss counts. It's a football season and every loss counts seriously.
"We have lost two consecutive games.
We would return home and put ourselves together for the big game that is coming up in four days time," he said.
