NPFL: Edo Government Applauds Bendel Insurance’s Strong Season

The Edo State Government has lauded Bendel Insurance for their outstanding performances in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

During a surprise visit to the team’s training session, Amadin Desmond Enabulele, Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, expressed the government's appreciation and urged the players to push for a continental qualification spot.

“I’m here to talk about our plans for the remainder of the season, but first, let me commend you on behalf of the state government and the Sports Commission for your efforts so far,” Enabulele said.

He recalled the team’s earlier struggles, which led to a directive from the state governor to provide full support in avoiding relegation.

“The difficult position you were in initially is why the governor tasked us with supporting and motivating you. Now, we’re in fifth place, and with more focus and determination, we can push for second or third. Continental qualification is within reach.”

Enabulele encouraged the squad to seize the opportunity, especially now that they are no longer in the Federation Cup.

 “Let’s aim for that continental ticket—it’s ours to take. We will continue to support you, but we expect you to give your best in return.”

Bendel Insurance will host Nasarawa United this Sunday in Benin City.
