Nine-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba FC have parted ways with their sporting director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The decision follows growing concerns within the club over poor recruitment and allegations of mismanagement, which have negatively impacted Enyimba’s performance in the ongoing NPFL season.

Sources close to the Aba-based club revealed that the management hierarchy reached the decision after an internal review of the club’s sporting operations, particularly player signings and squad planning.

In addition to Ekwueme’s dismissal, Enyimba are also facing unresolved issues regarding the head coach position. 

According to Deji Ayeni and Emmanuel Deutsch, uncertainty continues to surround the club’s technical leadership, further compounding the club’s challenges this season.

Enyimba, one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs, are expected to announce further changes as they attempt to stabilize the team and improve results in the second half of the campaign.
