NPFL: Finidi Reacts To Champions League Qualification

Coach of Rivers United, Finidi George, has reacted positively after the club secured qualification for the CAF Champions League for the second consecutive season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers confirmed their place in Africa’s elite club competition on Sunday following a hard-fought 3-2 away victory over Wikki Tourists in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Speaking after the game, Finidi praised the players for their determination and mentality throughout the campaign.

“It’s a good qualification that has been secured. Now, we have to see how we can win the NPFL league title,” Finidi stated.

“Getting a CAF Champions League qualification two years in a row is outstanding. 

That’s a good job. Most teams are looking for this position but it hasn’t been forthcoming.”

“We have to commend the players for their mentality in qualifying for the CAF Champions League back-to-back. It is indeed remarkably outstanding,” he concluded.

Rivers United will now shift attention to the remaining league fixtures as they continue their push for the NPFL title.
