NPFL: Finidi Reveals Why Rivers United Settled For Draw In Uyo

Rivers United head coach, Finidi George, has shared the reasons behind his team’s inability to secure maximum points against Akwa United in Uyo, as reported by BSNSports.com.ng.

Ahead of the match, the former Super Eagles coach was optimistic about claiming all three points against the Promise Keepers.

However, his side had to settle for a draw.

“I thought we would win, but it didn’t happen. The players performed well, but a slight defensive mistake allowed them to equalize,” Finidi told the club’s media.

“In the second half, we had another good opportunity where I felt the striker could have finished better. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. Playing with one man less, we had to manage the game and secure a point.

“I would have preferred all three points, but given how the game unfolded, I believe we earned a well-deserved draw.”
