NPFL: Former Enyimba Gaffer Usman Abd’Allah Tipped To Replace Katsina United Sacked Coach

Nigeria Professional Football League side Katsina United have sacked head coach, Azeez Mohammed.


This is contained in a statement made available by the club’s media officer, Nasir Gide, on Monday, it was revealed that the decision became necessary because of the club’s current position on the log and circumstances beyond the management’s control.


Mohammed, having worked in Sudan, joined Katsina United in May 2021 and was able to guide the side to safety in his debut campaign.


The Changi Boys finished the first stanza of the 2021/22 season in 15th place, just a point above the bottom four. However, a run of four wins in 14 games this term, culminated in the sacking of the tactician.


He becomes the fifth managerial casualty in the current NPFL campaign after the likes of Kennedy Boboye, Shola Balogun and others have been shown the exit doors.


Meanwhile, reports have it that former Enyimba coach and NPFL title winner, Usman Abd’Allah is set to take over at the Katsina-based club for the rest of the season.


The league is currently on a two-week break and by the time it returns, Abd’Allah might be on the sidelines in their game against Abia Warriors in Katsina.
