NPFL: Governor Motivates 3SC with New Bonus Scheme Following Warri Wolves Victory
By BSN Sports
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have received high commendation from their Chairman, Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami, following a hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over Warri Wolves in Ozoro, Delta State — marking the team’s first away win in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In a statement issued after the match, Hon. Lekan-Salami, speaking on behalf of Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, revealed that the Governor has promised a special bonus to the team for every away victory secured during the campaign. This incentive, he noted, will be provided in addition to the standard match bonuses.
“The Governor is impressed with the resilience and progress of the team despite a slow start to the season,” said the Chairman. “This additional reward is to show appreciation and to motivate the players to give their best in every game.”
Describing the Ozoro victory as a pivotal moment, Lekan-Salami hailed the team’s determination and unity in bouncing back from a disappointing home defeat to Bayelsa United.
“That win was more than just three points — it was a statement. It reflected the fighting spirit and collective resolve of the squad. This is exactly the kind of character the Governor expects to see every week,” he added.
The Chairman also emphasized the importance of maintaining focus ahead of their next crucial fixture — a home clash against Plateau United this Sunday. He cautioned against complacency and reminded the players of the Governor’s clear directive: to challenge for the league title and secure a continental spot for Oyo State.
With the added backing from the state government and renewed belief in the dressing room, 3SC will aim to build momentum and establish themselves as serious contenders in the NPFL title race.
