The head coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League club Bendel Insurance Monday Odigie has explained how they were able to beat Akwa United in Uyo, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The Benin Arsenal on Sunday in the opening game of the season defeated the former champions Akwa United at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

While speaking on the game at a post-match conference the coach said they played to absorb the pressure of the host and played to their strength.

"The abridged is the most congested league, if you look at the travels you are going to do and if your is not adequately prepared for it, you can not stand it.

All the teams in this group are big. The first game has come and gone, we are going to work on the mistakes we have made and wait for a stronger opposition.

It's a psychological thing, a team coming from the lower division, so if you are not tough you can't stand the rigour, we tried to develop that and somehow we were able to hold, during the game we are under pressure, so the only way to play is to be strong mentally, physically and emotionally so that you absorbed it and just wait to take your chance.

You don't play a big team strength for strength, you work on your weakness that is what we did", he said.
