NPFL: Ikorodu City Coach Blames Poor First Half For Missed Victory
Sampson Adedeji
Ikorodu City head coach, Ali Kandil, has admitted that his side’s sluggish first-half performance was the major reason they failed to secure maximum points against El Kanemi Warriors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Oga Boys were held to a 1-1 draw by the visiting El Kanemi Warriors on Matchday 2 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Speaking after the game, Kandil expressed disappointment with his team’s lack of intensity in the opening 45 minutes.
“We lacked intensity in the first half,” he said.
“It’s a tough result to take. Playing against teams that sit in a mid-block or low block is always difficult, and that really affected our rhythm.”
Ikorodu City will be hoping to bounce back stronger in their next fixture as they continue their NPFL campaign.
