Ikorodu City defeated league leaders Rivers United 1-0 in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 30 clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Substitute Folarin Temitope netted the decisive goal in the 52nd minute to hand the hosts a crucial victory.

Temitope finished calmly after Rivers United goalkeeper parried an earlier effort from Salami Farouk.

Mike Ozebagbe’s side held firm for the remainder of the encounter to secure all three points.

Despite the defeat, Rivers United remain top of the table with 52 points from 29 matches and still have a game in hand.

The victory lifted Ikorodu City to third position on the log with 48 points from 30 games.
