Kano Pillars suffered a shock home defeat on Saturday as Niger Tornadoes ran out 2-0 winners in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 10 clash at home, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After a cagey first half that produced few clear-cut chances, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 58th minute through Abdulrasheed Dabai, who calmly slotted home after a defensive lapse from Pillars.

Despite Kano Pillars’ attempts to respond, their forwards found it difficult to break through Tornadoes’ organized defense.

The visitors sealed the victory in the 88th minute when Terdoo Shimagande pounced on a loose ball to double the lead and silence the home crowd.

The result marks Tornadoes’ second win on the road this season and a major boost to their confidence, while Pillars will be left ruing their missed opportunities as they seek to bounce back in their next outing.
