Kano Pillars forward Auwalu Ali Malam is set to undergo Achilles tendon surgery on Sunday after sustaining an injury during his team’s 3-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The injury occurred during the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter, where Kano Pillars produced an impressive performance to secure all three points.

 However, the victory was overshadowed by the setback suffered by the influential attacker.

Medical examinations confirmed that the player suffered an Achilles tendon injury and will require surgery to correct the problem.

According to information from the club, Malam will be sidelined for several weeks as he begins his rehabilitation process after the procedure.

His absence is expected to be a significant blow for Kano Pillars as they continue their campaign in the NPFL, with the player having played an important role for the club this season.
