NPFL: Katsina United Join Kano Pillars, Heartland, MFM In Relegation As Remo Pick Continental Ticket

Katsina United's 2-0 loss to Wikki Tourists on last match-day of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was the final nail on the team relegation coffin to join the confirmed relegated teams to the Nigeria second-tier league., BSNSports.com.ng can report.
MFM FC and Heartland FC were the first two teams to sink in the relegation waters. However, Kano Pillars joined the duo a day before their final League match against 3SC following Nigeria Football Federation Appeal Committee decision to uphold the Disciplinary Committee who had deducted three points from accumulated 45 points due to unruly behaviour of the team's former Chairman, Surajo Jambul who harrased the match official that interfere the outcome of the match.
On match-day 38 in Kano, the day started with the Oluyole Warriors looking very much likely to go down but Wikki Tourist did them a big favour by beating Katsina United 2-0 in Bauchi.
Fuad Ekelojuoti and Salisu Ibrahim scored both goals for the Bauchi based team.
In Ikenne, Andy Okpe was ruthless as he fired hat trick to hand Remo Stars a 3-0 win over Niger Tornadoes and a continental ticket.
Plateau United defeated Enyimba by a lone goal with Mohammed Zulkifilu scoring the only goal of the game in the 55th minute.
Rangers thrashed Akwa United by 2-0, Sam Pam scored both goals in the 16th and 74th minute.
The woes of already relegated MFM FC was compounded as they lost 0-1 to Nasarawa United.
With the final results, Rivers United ( champions) and Plateau United will campaign in the CAF Champions League while Remo Stars will play in the CAF confederation cup.
MFM FC, Kano Pillars, Heartland FC and Katsina United have also been relegated to the Nigeria National League.
