A Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club has announced the departure of its captain, Musa Afeez, bringing an end to his five-year spell with the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The club confirmed the development in a statement, expressing gratitude for the defender's dedication, leadership, and commitment throughout his time at the club.

Afeez played a key role both on and off the pitch, serving as captain and helping to lead the team during his five seasons with the club.

"We are pleased to announce the departure of our captain, M. Afeez. After five years of service, leadership, and commitment, we bid farewell to a true club servant. 

"Wishing him every success, both on and off the pitch, as he begins this new chapter," the statement read.

The player's next destination has yet to be announced, but he leaves with the appreciation of the club and its supporters for his outstanding contribution over the years.
