Kwara United have finally settled all outstanding payments owed to their former players, in compliance with the directive of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, approved the payment of ₦201 million, covering outstanding sign-on fees from the 2014/15, 2015/16, and 2016/17 NPFL seasons.

The ex-players expressed appreciation for the joint efforts that ensured proper documentation and facilitated the long-awaited settlement of the debts.

It will be recalled that Kwara United were previously among the clubs facing complaints over overdue payables and contract breaches.

The NPFL had warned that defaulting clubs risk having the licences of their new players withdrawn indefinitely.

With this development, Kwara United—alongside Shooting Stars—have now complied with the league’s directive, resolving their long-standing financial disputes.
