NPFL: Lobi Stars Begin Off-Season Break After Relegation

Lobi Stars have commenced their off-season break following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The club has announced that players and officials are expected to return to duty on Monday, June 9, 2025, to begin preparations for the upcoming season.

The Makurdi-based side endured a dismal campaign, finishing at the bottom of the table and suffering relegation to the second-tier league.

Over the course of the season, they recorded just six wins, alongside 10 draws and 22 losses.

In a statement posted on the club’s official Facebook page, Lobi Stars confirmed the resumption date and outlined their plans moving forward.

“Lobi Stars Football Club have declared 9th of June, 2025 as resumption date to begin preparation ahead of the new season,” the club announced.

Team Manager Lawrence Adoga, speaking on behalf of Chairman Dr. Phillip Nongu and the board, addressed the staff and players before the break, stating that the club is entering a short recess from official activities.

He added that any updates or changes regarding resumption or other matters would be communicated in due course.
