NPFL: Musa Rolls Out 9-Point Agenda for Kano Pillars, Clears Air On Dual Role

Newly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars and Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has unveiled a comprehensive nine-point agenda to revive the fortunes of the club, while also clarifying his dual responsibilities, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday at the club's home ground in Kano, Musa stressed the critical need for sponsorship and community support, warning that the club would continue to struggle without them.
“We’re aiming for the trophy this season,” he declared. “We can’t afford a repeat of last season’s setbacks. I’ve come with a nine-point agenda to bring back the club’s lost glory. That’s why I’m calling on all Kano sports lovers to rally behind us. I’m committed to restoring Pillars to greatness.”
Musa acknowledged the complexity of juggling his new administrative role with his ongoing playing career but assured fans that he would remain fair and dedicated.
“It won’t be easy, but every player will have an equal opportunity to prove themselves,” he said. “With fan support, we won’t need to rely solely on government. Our identity and our jersey are strong enough to attract backing.”
He also highlighted the recent improvement in the club’s digital engagement, pointing to increased activity on social media as a positive sign of progress. Musa expressed confidence that tangible developments would soon follow.
“At the moment, we still need government support to stabilise the club. However, we’ve already started reaching out to private companies for sponsorship. We're confident of success in the near future,” he noted.
On his dual role, Musa provided clear distinction: “On the pitch, I’m just a player, and the coach has full authority even to discipline me. But off the pitch, I’m the General Manager. That line is very clear.”
