NPFL: Nasarawa United Extend Unbeaten Run, Kun Khalifat Edge Enyimba In Oriental Derby

Nasarawa United continued their impressive start to the 2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season, stretching their unbeaten run to seven matches with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Rangers in Lafia on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Rangers took the lead in the 19th minute through Wisdom Ebirim, but last season’s top scorer, Anas Yusuf, restored parity for the hosts from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute. John Joshua sealed victory for Nasarawa United just after the hour mark.
The win keeps the Solid Miners at the summit of the NPFL standings with 19 points from eight matches.
In Umuahia, Abia Warriors climbed to second place after a convincing 2-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors, courtesy of a brace from Casmir Azubuike.
Enyimba slipped to third following a narrow 1-0 loss to Kun Khalifat in the Oriental Derby. Ebuka Nwokorie scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute, handing the People’s Elephant their first defeat of the season.
At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars were denied maximum points as Shooting Stars snatched a dramatic late equaliser in a 1-1 draw. Mustapha Jibrin put Pillars ahead early, but Adams Mustapha struck deep into stoppage time to extend 3SC’s unbeaten streak to four matches.
In Jos, Plateau United cruised to a 2-0 victory over Barau FC with goals from Amietimi Enewarikpemi and Vincent Temitope.
Elsewhere, Ikorodu City edged Bendel Insurance 1-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, thanks to a decisive strike from Folarin Temitope.
In Ozoro, Warri Wolves and Niger Tornadoes shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Israel Oladejo put Wolves ahead in the 18th minute before Terdoo Shemagande levelled for Tornadoes 10 minutes later.
The clash between Wikki Tourists and Kwara United also ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Jonathan Mairiga opened scoring for Wikki in the 23rd minute, but Toheeb Gidado equalised just before halftime.
