Ahead of their opening game of the season, the Administrative Secretary of Rangers International of Enugu Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua has insisted that playing their home game away from home will not affect the team's performance this season, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Due to the none completion of the renovation works at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu, the Flying Antelopes have adopted Awka City stadium in Anambra as their new home.

The Secretary while speaking on Wednesday ahead of the match, said the talents and dedication of the players in the team will see them through this season.

â€œI am optimistic about the team achieving our set target at the end of this season. Quality players have been acquired to beef up our chances of playing continental football as well as emerging champions of the league.

The management is working in tandem with the technical crew to see that we achieve what we set out to get as a show of appreciation to our supporters all over the world.”

â€œNo doubt, we would have loved to play before our numerous supporters and followers in Enugu at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium but with the renovation works yet to be completed, we have to move to Awka where we also enjoy large followership.

However, I am optimistic that playing away from home will not affect our chances as we have a formidable squad to draw talents from.

Our first match against Abia Warriors on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at 15.00 hours will serve as a perfect take-off for us in Awka", he told the club media.
