A thrilling round of fixtures unfolded in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday, with home teams enjoying strong outings while a few visitors managed to snatch valuable points, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ikorodu City started the day on a high, cruising to a 2-0 win over Tornadoes thanks to Joseph Arumala, who scored from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute and doubled the lead late in the 88th minute.

Elsewhere, Rangers held Abia Warriors to a goalless draw, while El Kanemi Warriors also shared the spoils with Warri Wolves in a 0-0 stalemate, highlighting the resilience of visiting sides.

Home advantage proved decisive for Kun Khalifat and Kano Pillars. Kun Khalifat defeated 3SC 2-0, with James Ekebuike opening the scoring in the 24th minute and Blessed Iyamu doubling the lead shortly after halftime in the 47th minute.

Kano Pillars edged Remo Stars 1-0 through Luis Dadong’s 57th-minute strike. Plateau United secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kwara United, courtesy of Sadiq Yusuf’s 88th-minute winner.

Nasarawa United and Bayelsa United played out a 1-1 draw, with Victor John giving the hosts an early lead in the 7th minute before Energy Otunuya equalized in the 37th.

In a dramatic encounter, Wikki Tourists and Katsina United fought to a 3-3 draw. The match was marred by fan protests and saw Katsina United reduced to ten men after Uche Collins was sent off following a second booking.

The contest was also temporarily halted due to poor visibility in Bauchi, with the remaining minutes set to resume on Monday morning from the 78th minute. Sunday’s results underscore the competitiveness of the NPFL, with several teams still in contention for vital points as the season progresses.
