NPFL: Rangers, Enyimba Secure Home Wins As Nasarawa United Hold Wikki In Bauchi

Rangers International and Enyimba International both recorded crucial home victories on Sunday as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday fixtures delivered thrilling encounters across the country, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, Rangers International continued their strong home form with a convincing 2-0 victory over Kano Pillars. Emmanuel Essien opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Mukhtar Mohammed’s own goal in the 49th minute sealed all three points for the Flying Antelopes in front of their supporters.
In Aba, nine-time champions Enyimba International edged Bayelsa United 1-0 at the Enyimba International Stadium.
The decisive moment came late in the game when Samuel Agu struck in the 81st minute to hand the People’s Elephant a hard-fought win.
In Bauchi, Nasarawa United earned a valuable away point after holding Wikki Tourists to a 1-1 draw. Chimezie Victor gave Nasarawa the lead in the 29th minute, but Jonathan Mairiga equalised for the hosts in the 35th minute to ensure the spoils were shared.
Elsewhere, Niger Tornadoes and Bendel Insurance played out a dramatic 2-2 draw.
Bendel Insurance took early control through goals from Nnamdi Anthony (2’) and Chinedu Nwosu (38’), but Tornadoes mounted a late comeback with Abdulaziz Dalhatu scoring in the 60th minute before Rickson Mendos rescued a point with a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in the 90+4th minute.
In Katsina, Katsina United recorded an emphatic 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors, with Uche Collins scoring twice in quick succession in the 55th and 58th minutes to secure maximum points for the home side.
The results further intensify the NPFL title race and relegation battle, as clubs continue to fight for crucial points at both ends of the table.
