NPFL: Remo Stars, Lobi, Plateau Pick Home Wins

Remo Stars have shot to the top of the Nigeria Premier League after a 2-1 defeat of Sporting Lagos in a tension soaked game in Ikenne on Sunday.
It was the first time Sporting Lagos goalkeeper Christian Nwoke conceded a goal after having clean sheet after four league games.
With the result, the ‘King of the South West’ has apparently been decide. What a match! Not only was it tension soaked, the pitch suffered water log as torrential rain delayed the commencement of the second half by nearly 30 minutes.
Sporting Lagos shot ahead with a grass cutting shot from Jonathan Amuku in the 21st minute. Shocked by the goal, Remo Stars went on counter offensive. Under severe pressure, Sporting Lagos captain, Ozavchae Balogun deflected the ball into his net.
It was the same player who under pressure handled the ball in his penalty box to give the hard pressing Remo Stars a penalty kick opportunity in the 49th minute.
Sikiru Alimi took the shot to give Remo Stars a win.
At the Pantami Stadium, Gombe United pipped Bendel Insurance while Akwa United still searching for the first win after a 0-0 draw with Shooting Stars at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo. Katsina United in Owerri shared the spoils with Heartland FC with a 1-1 draw. At the Sani Abacha stadium, Kano Pillars beat former Champions, Rivers United 1-0 ad Rangers International picked a pint on the road after holding Kwara United to a 1-1 Draw in Ilorin. Plateau United and Lobi Stars won their home matches. Plateau United could only score one goal to pick the maximum three points against Sunshine Stars as Abia Warriors lost 0-2 to the home team, Lobi Stars at the Lafia City Stadium.
