NPFL: Rivers United Forward Target, Title, Golden Boot Award

Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer and Rivers United attacker, Chijioke Akunneto, has confirmed that his eyes are fixed on both the league title and top scorer, BSNsports.com.ng report

His teammate, Ishaq Rafiu set the pace for the top scorer award earlier in the season but Akunneto surprised everyone with the way he came from behind and jumped to the top.

He further said winning the title with Rivers United remained their main target for this season.

"Well as oliver twist, I will like to win both the title and goal scorer award, but lifting NPFL title with Rivers United is my ultimate target."

"I'd like to win the award as top scorer but that won't make me to be too selfish, I will support my team mate in better scoring position; I've been providing assists for my team mates and I will still do more," he said.

He's currently on 16 goals while Enyimba's Victor Mbaoma is in the second position with 15 goals.
