NPFL: Rivers United Hold Rangers As Abia Warriors Compound Kano Pillars Woes

League leaders, Rivers United move closer to the title on Saturday as action resumed on the first day of the matchday 34 of the league, BSNsports.com.ng report


The Flying Antelopes playing at their adopted home in Awka City stadium in Anambra did all they could but find it hard to breakdown the backline of the Pride of Rivers as the game ended goalless.


In Okigwe, Abia Warriors compounded the woes of Kano Pillars as the hosts outscored the visitors, 3-2.


Paul Samson gave Abia the lead in the 4th minute before Kelvin Eze drew the Pillars level in the 27th minute.


Emmanuel Onu restored the host lead just before the halftime before Godwin Obaje made it 3-1 for the Umuahia-based club.


Auwali Ali reduced the deficit for Pillars as the game ended 3-2.


Jimmy Abdul netted the only goal of the game as Niger Tornadoes defeated Nasarawa United by a lone goal.


Chukwudi Nwaodu's penalty in the 47th minute gave Heartland FC maximum points over Katsina United.


The remaining games are fixed for Sunday
