Rivers United opened a 10-point lead in the Nigeria Professional Football League after beating nearest challengers Plateau United 2-0 in their matchday 31 fixture in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Elsewhere, Chukwuemeka Obioma and Samuel Stone were on target as Enyimba pip Sunshine Stars 2-0.
At the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Lobi Stars edged out Kwara United 3-1 to boost their survival hopes.
Chinonso Okonkwo, Olamilekan Adams and Nanen Imenger were all target for the home team, while Samuel Tiza scored for Kwara United.
