Shooting Stars Sports Club defeated Rivers United 2–1 in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture played on Thursday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The hosts took the lead in the 34th minute through Sodiq Ibrahim, who finished calmly to give Shooting Stars the advantage before the break.

Rivers United fought back after the restart and were rewarded in the 69th minute when Wasiu Falolu found the back of the net to restore parity for the visitors.

With the game seemingly heading for a draw, defender Qamar Adegoke emerged the hero for the Oluyole Warriors, scoring deep into stoppage time in the 90+2 minute to seal a dramatic victory for the Ibadan-based side

The win boosts Shooting Stars’ position on the NPFL table, while Rivers United were left to rue missed opportunities after putting up a spirited performance away from home.
