NPFL: Shooting Stars Retain 17 Players Ahead 2022/23 Season
Ahead of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League season, Shooting Stars of Ibadan have decided to retain 17 players from the current squad, BSNsports.com.ng report.
The club narrowly escaped relegation in the just concluded season and the management has quickly swung into action to avoid what happened last season in the upcoming season.
Early in the week, the head coach of the team Edith Agoye turned in his resignation letter which was accepted by the club hierarchy.
According to the statement, the retained players are expected to resume training immediately after a new coach is appointed for the new season.
"After an extensive appraisal of the performance of the Team in the just concluded Season, the underlisted Players are advised to resume promptly as soon as the new Technical Adviser is unveiled:

(5) Ebuka Anaekwe
(6) Omololu Waheed
(7) Isiaka Mutiu
(8) Adekunle Adeniyi

(11) Aniete Uko
(12) Raheem Quadri
(13) Akilu Muhammed
(14) Malomo Taofeek
(15) Opeoluwa Olufemi
(16) Olafimihan Gafar
(17) Omodemueke Moses
On behalf of the Management, I am to appreciate others for their contributions to the development and growth of the Club in previous years and particularly the Season that just ended while wishing you the best in future endeavours," the statement reads
