NPFL: Sunshine Stars Await Management's Verdict After Relegation

Sunshine Stars head coach, Bobola Akinfolarin, has revealed that the team is awaiting further directives from the club’s management following their confirmed relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Owena Whales’ demotion was sealed after a 2-1 loss to Niger Tornadoes at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday.

They are scheduled to play their final match of the season against El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri, a fixture Akinfolarin described as a mere formality.

“The match against El-Kanemi is just a formality,” he stated.

“We’re going there to honour the fixture and wait for the management’s decision afterwards.”

Sunshine Stars have so far accumulated 11 wins, eight draws, and 17 losses from 37 league games.
