Sunshine Stars head coach, Abubakar Bala, has set his sights on securing more points from the remaining league fixtures to steer his team away from relegation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Akure Gunners currently sit in the relegation zone, but their recent away draw against Nasarawa United has boosted the team’s confidence.

"It was a hard-fought game, and the boys gave their all. We are grateful for that result. Since the start of the second round, we haven’t secured an away win, but the team is improving in that aspect. We believe more points will come from our away matches," Bala said.

"We are working on our concentration and finishing. We scored four goals in our last home game, and maintaining that momentum will help us pick up crucial points both at home and away. With two or three more positive results, we should be out of the relegation zone," he added

In an interview with Punch. After 28 games, Sunshine Stars have recorded nine wins, five draws, and 14 losses.

Their next challenge is a crucial clash against fellow relegation-threatened side Plateau United at their adopted home ground in Ikenne.
