NPFL: Victory Against Shooting Stars Give Us Confidence That We Achieve Last Season Feat, Says Bala Nikyu

Manager of Nasarawa United Bala Nikyu has said their win against Shooting Stars improved the confidence of the team that last season's feat can still be achieved, BSNsports.com.ng report

Against all odds, Nasarawa United was the surprise package of last season in the Nigeria professional football league and even qualified for the final of the Aiteo Cup.

Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat in the stanza against the Oluyole Warriors, the Solid Miners recorded a 2-0 win on Sunday in the reverse fixture.

"Shooting Stars were the last team we played at the first stanza and the game was very tight for them, and that made me think the reverse would be that tough, too.

"The effect of today's result is that we are stepping up and we hope to continue with this form in our subsequent games, as there is still every possibility that we could repeat the feat of last season and even finish among the top three at the end of the season," he said.
