The technical adviser of Rivers United Finidi George has said they deserved their victory over Heartland FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers on Saturday thrashed Heartland 3-1 at the Adoke Amasiamaka Stadium in Port-Harcout in the opening game of Match day 2 of the Nigeria Premier Football League. He commended his players for the way they reacted after conceding the equalizer. " It was a good game, we started with a high tempo and after that goal the tempo dropped and they ( Heartland) started playing, unfortunately, they got that goal and we were furious about it and we have to ginger the boys, especially in the second half "The second half was for us; they couldn't do much apart from one or two breaks they had; we controlled the game, and overall, we deserved to win. "The team is practically new, so we have been working with the players tactically and technically, and they are responding", he said.
