Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, has reaffirmed the league's commitment to delivering on its promises, particularly regarding cash rewards, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Elegbeleye confirmed that Remo Stars, champions of the 2024/25 season, will receive a prize of ₦200 million—a 33.3% increase from the ₦150 million awarded last season.

Reflecting on the progression of the league’s financial incentives, the former Sunshine Stars chairman said: “We made a promise three years ago to reward the league winner with ₦100 million, and we delivered. Last season, we raised it to ₦150 million, and this season we pledged ₦200 million—and we will fulfil that.”

He emphasized the league’s upward trajectory: “Our goal is to grow geometrically. As the league improves, it becomes more marketable.”

With this latest payout, the NPFL continues to show commitment to raising the standards and value of Nigerian club football.
