NPFL 24: Akwa United's Abdullahi Optimistic Of Getting Win In Enugu

Caretaker coach of Akwa United, Umar Abdullahi has expressed optimism that the team has good quality players that will help improve the club’s performance as they aim to end the season on a strong footing, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Akwa United’s quest for a first away win in the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League season will be rekindled on Sunday when they take on Enugu Rangers on matchday 20 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

The Promise Keepers defeated Enugu Rangers 1-0 in the first installment of the match at Eket Stadium before the league embarked on a mid-season break.

The coaching crew, who have fortified the squad with some quality players during the mid-season transfer window are optimistic that the mid-season transfers will help their course.  

The players include; former captain Ubong Friday, Mustapha Dan-Azumi from Gombe United, Suleiman Sani from Wikki Tourists, Daniel Japhet from EFCC, Damilare Shodipo from Stormers FC amongst others.
