NPFL 24: Dogo Hails Players After Draw With Akwa United, Demands More Support
Precious Oham
Kabiru Dogo of Kwara United said he is pleased with his team's performance in the 1-1 draw with Akwa United on MatchDay 11 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.Â
Sadeeq Yusuf's equaliser for Kwara United at the stroke of half-time ensured that the visitors snatched a point against relegation-threatened Akwa United after Uche Collins had gave them the lead from the spot in the 43rd minute.
Dogo noted that some of his players, who were formerly in the ranks of Akwa United did help his side to pick a point in Eket saying that they felt at home.Â
He went further to call for more support from the management and fans adding that if they remain patient, the Ilorin-based side will continue to churn out the needed result.Â
His words: "I congratulate my team for achieving this success because it's not an easy task but today we were able to do the necessary things to pick a point. It's a morale booster for us especially playing against a former champion.
"We felt at home because when you have three or four players of a former team, you will feel at home. We believe that we were at home today based on some of their former players that are here. They know the environment, they know the team and everything about them and it worked for us.Â
"It's all about patience because it's a new team that has future. What we want is patience from the fans and management. The little patience they have, you can see the result and if they have more patience, they will see a better Kwara United."
