NPFL 24: Doma Duo Onigbinde, Osayi Scoop Monthly Awards

Doma United duo of Head Coach Akinade Onigbinde and Goalkeeper, Kingdom Osayi have been named winners of the League Bloggers Awards in November for their excellent performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Onigbinde edged last month’s winner, Daniel Ogunmodede, who was also nominated as well as the duo of Lobi Stars’ Eugene Agagbe and Sunshine Stars’ Edith Agoye. Like Ogunmodede, it was a second nomination for Agagbe.

Onigbinde’s Doma United were unbeaten in six matches played during the month under review, a month they started by claiming bragging rights in the Gombe Derby with a 3-0 away win and concluded by sharing points at Remo Stars.

Former champions, Akwa United, Enyimba and Plateau United also all fell to Doma’s superior firepower, with Onigbinde’s side also ensuring they did not concede a goal in the month under review.

Osayi, who is steadily turning the NPFL to his kingdom put up captivating performances in goal, finished the month under review without conceding a goal.

Osayi beat competition from Remo Stars’ duo of Sikiru Alimi and Sodiq Ismail as well as teammate, Andrew Majilasa, Bendel Insurance goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie and Lobi Stars’ Samuel Tiza.

The duo will receive their plaques before their home match against Kano Pillars, on Saturday.
