NPFL 24: Draw With Akwa United Fair Result For Sunshine Stars- Agoye

Sunshine Stars Head Coach, Edith Agoye has said the goalless draw with Akwa United in Match Day 15 of the Nigeria Premier Football League is a fair result for his team, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Agoye stated this in his post-match reactions after his team held Akwa United to a stalemate in Eket on Thursday. 

Agoye commended his players for securing the point on the road against the highly motivated Akwa United side, who are struggling in the league. 

"We played against a team that is very technical, the team that is well grounded and knows how to play football. We are very happy with our set up for this game and the response of the players on the field of play. 

"We wanted the victory and we know it wasn't easy. We did our best to take a point which is good on the road. The opponents wanted it so much. We knew the players will want to give a very good account of themselves. We knew that we will be playing against an Akwa United that will be highly motivated. 

"The players from Akwa United did their best but unfortunately they met a Sunshine Stars that is well grounded and knows what they want and went for it. A draw is a fair result. It's very important point for us considering the fact that we lost two points at home. We are happy to recover the point."

Sunshine Stars will hosts Doma United in their next league game while Akwa United confront Katsina United away.
