By Precious Oham
Rivers United Technical Adviser, Stanley Eguma has hailed his team's dominant display in the 2-0 win over Enyimba FC in an NPFL re-scheduled game, BSNSports.com.ng reports.Â
A brace from Deputy Echeta ensured that the Pride of Rivers beat the defending champions in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.Â
Eguma noted that his players lived up to expectations against the People's Elephants of Aba adding that their opponents gave them a big test.Â
His words: "It was a good game, three points in the bag. I appreciate the players and thank them for their effort. This is a top class encounter, two rival opponents, Rivers United/Enyimba FC is a cracker any day. They are defending champions and they showed that today. They gave us a big test and we lived up to expectations.Â
"Having been on the road for sometime, traveled to Gombe, Enugu and back to Port Harcourt, the effect of the wears and tears of the league but today against all odds to come out with a resounding 2-0 victory is a good one."
Rivers United will take on Doma United in their next game at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium as the second stanza of the league take centre stage this weekend.
