NPFL 24: Emotional Boboye Bids Heartland Farewell, Dedicates Victory Over Remo Stars to Fans

Technical Adviser of Heartland Football Club of Owerri, Kennedy Boboye has confirmed that he will leave the club after the victory against Remo Stars, BSNSports.com.ng reports.Â
Speaking with the press in his post-match interview, Boboye, who was in tears dedicated the win to the fans of the club confirming that it was his last game in charge of the team following the directives from the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for the reinstatement of erstwhile Technical Adviser, Christian Obi.
Showing a true sportsmanship, Boboye asked Heartland FC players to transfer their allegiance to the reinstated Obi and also play with the same dedication, courage and determination for the progress of the team.
“This victory is for the fans. Imo state is where I have gotten the most support in my managerial career. I won’t be here for the next game. I wish them well, this is a place where the people had me at heart.
“The number one citizen of the state made a pronouncement and this is my last game as the manager.
“Everything the players have done for me they should do for Christian Obi. He was the one who recruited them. I have told the players to give him maximum support.†He concluded.
Heartland FC moved to the 17th spot with 16 points from 16 points. It was the club's highest position in the ongoing season with Boboye overseeing the last seven games getting three wins, a draw and three losses.
Heartland FC made it three successive home wins and first topflight victory over Remo Stars after a 3-1 triumph over the Sky Blue Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Thursday evening.
Goals from Promise Anyanwu, Onyekachi Okafor and Ikechukwu Chinedu and a consolation goal from Sikiru Alimi powered Heartland FC to their biggest win of the season thus far in what was Boboye's final game in charge.
