NPFL 24: Game Against Kwara United Is Must Win For Akwa United - Osho Declares
Precious Oham
Coach Fatai Osho of Akwa United has told his players that Saturday's Nigeria Premier Football League game with Kwara United is a must win for the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Promise Keepers will confront Kwara United in a Matchday 11 NPFL fixture at the Eket Stadium in their quest to get out of the danger zone after a poor start to the season.
Osho said the team is determined to fight for the maximum points adding that they cannot afford to drop any more points at home.
"Our game on Saturday is another opportunity for us to redeem ourselves by going for all three points. We know that it won’t be easy but we are ready and determined to fight for the maximum point.
“After ten rounds of matches, we are at the wrong end of the table and we want to get out of that zone as quickly as possible, so all matches are a must win for us, beginning from this one against Kwara United because we cannot afford to drop any more points especially at home.
“We have done a lot of work with the boys in our training sessions and we trust they will come to the party on Saturday and prove their worth. I have confidence that my players will get the job done because they have been well trained, encouraged and motivated. Now it’s time for them to reciprocate that gesture by winning the game for the fans and supporters of this club."
Osho has a full strength team to select his matchday squad from. Goalkeeper Jean Efala, defender Anthony Chukwuebuka and striker Hadi Mohammed have all recovered from injuries and have returned to full fitness.
The Promise Keepers currently occupy the 17th position on the log, three points behind Kwara United who are 9th in the table with 13 points.
