NPFL 24: Offor Stays Upbeat Over Threat of SackÂ
Precious Oham
Sporting Lagos head coach, Paul Offor, has insisted that he is not absolved from any threat to his job following the abysmal performance of his team in the Nigeria Premier Football League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.Â
Speaking with journalists after Sporting Lagos held Bayelsa United to a 1-1 draw, Offor declared his readiness to do his best to ensure the team performs better in the league.Â
He said: "Of course, if your team is not on top of the table, the management can make the decision. My job here is to perform and if I don't perform, I don't think I'm special. People are already facing the sack because of performance.Â
"I know the pressure is on me and the team but I'm not bothered about it. The most important thing is that I love this club and if my position being under threat that the club will do well, I don't have a problem with that.Â
"The most important thing is what we have done in the past. I don't want it to go for waste and that is why every time we come to this field to train and play, we work.Â
"All I will continue to do for this club that I love so much is to continue to work hard to make sure that we get out of the position we are and get into a better position and progress as a team."
Salaudeen Aliu 90th minute equaliser ensured that Sporting Lagos shared the spoils with Bayelsa United after Robert Mizo had given his side the lead in the 24th minute.
