NPFL 24: Win over Bayelsa United Morale Booster For Rivers United — Echeta

Rivers United pacy winger, Deputy Echeta has described his team's 2-0 victory over Bayelsa United as a morale booster ahead of their engagements in the league and continental matches, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Echeta, who got an assist for the opener against Bayelsa United in a Match Day 12 rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, game noted that the victory was very much needed to boost their chances in the league.

He said: "It was not an easy task. For a while now we have not been participating in the league but we have been playing in the CAF Confederation Cup. It was an opportunity for us to win and help our team come up in the table.

"You could see our team is right below the table. We needed this win, to work hard, push ourselves and get the job done. The win over Bayelsa United is a good one and of course we are happy we have won."

Rivers United overcame their neighbours, Bayelsa United in a South-South derby decided at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium with goals coming from captain Nyima Nwagua and Yao Bernard.
