NPFL 25: Enyimba Won't Take Ikorodu City Likely - Yemi Olanrewaju
Precious Oham
Enyimba FC head coach, Yemi Olanrewaju has insisted that he and his boys will not take Ikorodu City FC of Lagos for granted when both sides lock horns on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The "Oga Boys", as they are fondly called, will be the People's Elephants guest at the Enyimba Int'l Stadium, Aba, in an NPFL match day 9 encounter by 4 pm.
The newly-promoted Lagosians will, for the first time, engage the 9-time league champions in any type of competition.
Reacting to Enyimba Media ahead of the Sunday game, Yema said although he is a Lagosian that, he works and earns his living in Aba, Abia State, so his allegiance is now with the Aba side.
He said they already have some tips about the team and that he knows some of their players, insisting that though they will come to give Enyimba a good fight, they will not take them for granted as they are focused on the maximum points, especially with gap brewing at the top of the log.
"Yes, I am a Lagosia,n but Abia, where I work and earn my living, and so come Sunday, I will be an Abian.
"I think I know a little bit about them, and I have to know some of their players; we know they will come here to give us a good fight.
"It would be stupid of us to underrate them; we will take the game so seriously and go for the maximum points, especially now the gap at the top of the log is opening up.
"We are not going to take Ikorodu City for granted because, we would treat them like every other big team in the like like Remo Stars, Rivers United, Rangers and Others and go for the maximum three points at the end of the day."
